ballet

Ballet is the foundation of dance technique and is carried over into most other dance styles. At EDC, we believe ballet is fundamental in the development of each dancer.

tap

Tap is a great way of teaching our dancers the ability to communicate dance through sound. It increases their awareness of rhythm and syncopation. Steps varying in difficulty are taught progressively through the year, allowing each dancer to master techniques at his/her own pace.

pom

Pom is known for its precise movements, kick lines, and intricate group formations. Students in this class will learn proper pompon vocabulary and foundational skills such as splits, kicks and a variety of jumps. Over the course of the session, students will combine formation changes, arm movements, and effective use of poms in one crowd-pleasing routine! Often confused with cheerleading; pompon is set to music and does not involve vocal cheering.

pointe

EDC’s pointe program is an invite only program that allows students who are committed to ballet technique to take their dancing to the next level. Our ballet instructor focuses on safety, strength and technique.

jazz

Jazz is normally a high energy and fast paced dance style, but some can be slower and more controlled. EDC teachers pride themselves on choreographing entertaining and dynamic Jazz routines at both the competitive and recreational levels. Dancers will learn jumps, turns, kicks, stylized combinations and routines.

lyrical & contemporary

Lyrical and contemporary styles blend ballet and jazz dance. Lyrical and contemporary are generally smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz. The dancer will use movement to express emotions through music and lyrics. Powerful, expressive songs are often used to give dancers a chance to express a range of emotions through their dancing.

clogging

Clogging is a high energy form of dance, similar to tap. No previous dance experience is needed in the beginner class. We offer all levels of clogging from beginner to advanced.

hip hop

Our Hip Hop program features high energy and strong movements. These classes are great for improving your rhythm, personal style and articulation for ages 6+ in both our studio and competition level classes.

creative movement

Each week our instructors will inspire movement with music. These half hour classes combine a mixture of jazz, ballet and fun improvisation using props, silly songs, and sounds! For ages 3-4.

Along with dance classes, they have taught my girls about respect for others, self-respect, responsibility, positive mindset, inner beauty, and a body-positive attitude. They have had a huge impact on my kids that will stay with them for their entire lives.
